Job Title: Datapower Developer
Location: Fort Mill, SC (3 days onsite per week)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Datapower Developer with strong expertise in secure integrations and appliance administration. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Datapower environments, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative integration solutions and ensure system stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and administer DataPower X2 appliances for secure integrations.

  • Manage proxy implementations, appliance initialization, setup, and networking.

  • Implement and support security protocols: OAuth 2.0, WS-Security, Authentication/Authorization, JWTs.

  • Utilize Gateway scripts and XSL transformations to develop integration workflows.

  • Define common standard frameworks for integration, orchestration, mediation, encryption, and decryption.

  • Manage TLS certificates, coordinate renewals, and support seamless upgrades across environments.

  • Work with application teams on API cleanup, domain/appliance configurations, and pristine environment governance.

  • Provide advanced error handling, troubleshooting, and RCA documentation for production issues.

  • Mentor app teams in secure integration design patterns.

  • Lead new Data Center DataPower and WMQ deployments/builds.

  • Partner with Security, Infra Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, and App Dev teams to optimize routing patterns across multiple Data Centers.

  • Develop and maintain DevOps/CI-CD automations using TeamCity, Octopus, Git Actions, Terraform, Python, and Ansible.

  • Automate code/config migrations via SOMA/REST management.

  • Install, configure, and manage IBM WebSphere MQ environments, including HA/failover setups.

  • Operate and manage DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD).

  • Perform API debugging using Dynatrace, SolarWinds, or equivalent tools.

  • Produce thorough documentation such as runbooks, migration plans, strategies, and knowledge articles using Confluence.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IBM DataPower integration and administration.

  • Deep understanding of security, networking, and integration standards.

  • Strong debugging skills with proven ability to identify and resolve root causes quickly.

  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration in large enterprise environments.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive attitude.

Nice to Have
  • Prior experience with CI/CD integration tools and cloud-ready migration strategies.

  • Familiarity with Dynatrace/SolarWinds for API observability and monitoring.
