Position Overview

The Engineer will play a key role in supporting design, manufacturing, and process improvement activities. This position works closely with production, quality, and leadership teams to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes for gear and machined components.
  • Provide engineering support to production, including troubleshooting equipment, processes, and part quality.
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations on root cause analysis (RCA) for customer claims.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce scrap.
  • Support cross-training and knowledge-sharing efforts across teams.
  • Assist in new product development and prototype builds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (gear/metalworking industry preferred).
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, and quality systems.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining and tooling selection.
