The Boeing Company is looking for an Information Technology Manager to join the team in Mesa, AZ; Dallas, TX; Plano, TX; Seal Beach, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; North Charleston, SC; Seattle, WA; Renton, WA; Everett, WA; Hazelwood, MO; Berkeley, MO or Ridley Park, PA.

The Enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data organization is seeking a hands-on Front-Line Manager to lead our Enterprise Search program and drive a best-in-class employee digital experience. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of how employees and customers discover, access, and act on information. The manager will oversee daily operations, execute projects, and develop talent, while ensuring that enterprise search and Generative Artificial Intelligence solutions deliver measurable business value.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach a team of developers, product managers, and architect for enterprise search and GenAI solutions
  • Define and deliver the enterprise search roadmap aligned to employee productivity, digital adoption, and business priorities
  • Partner with product owners, Information Technology (IT), security, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to prioritize use cases and ensure data access, privacy, and compliance
  • Oversee delivery of GenAI-powered search solutions that transform workflows, including conversational AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), etc.
  • Oversee ingestion, metadata enrichment, relevance tuning, vector embedding pipelines, and search infrastructure (cloud services, search platforms)
  • Monitor and optimize search relevance and performance using A/B testing, relevance evaluation, analytics, and user feedback loops
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key operational metrics to ensure optimal performance
  • Manage vendor relationships (commercial search/GenAI tools, vector databases, Large Language Model (LLM) providers and evaluate third-party solutions vs build
  • Ensure operational excellence: incident response, capacity planning, cost management, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) definitions
  • Evangelize search improvements across the organization and lead change management/User Experience (UX) improvements to drive adoption
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience defining vision, strategy, and outcome-driven product roadmaps
  • 5+ years of experience leading initiatives that require Automation and/or Artificial Intelligence
  • 5+ years of experience delivering architecture and design solutions supporting data security

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or military work experience
  • Experience deploying and governing GenAI at scale
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, taxonomy/ontology design, or enterprise content strategy
  • Experience with semantic search, vector embeddings, or GenAI integrations (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, LLM)
  • Experience with search technologies and architecture
  • Experience with program/project management
  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives and delivering to deadlines
  • Experience with data pipelines, indexing, metadata/taxonomy management, and information governance
  • Experience with stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills
