Job Details

Job Title: Payments Consultant
Location: Tampa, FL (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
  • Process and monitor daily ACH transactions, including debits, credits, returns, and exceptions.
  • Support wire transfers, H2H, and API-based payment flows as needed.
  • Assist with client onboarding, payment file setup, and operational readiness checks.
  • Troubleshoot payment issues and work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Ensure all payment activities comply with NACHA rules and internal risk/control standards.
  • Perform reconciliations, reporting, and documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and technology teams on process improvements.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders on payment inquiries.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in payment operations, treasury operations, or banking operations.
  • Hands-on experience with ACH, wires, and payment processing systems.
  • Knowledge of NACHA guidelines and payment exception workflows.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
  • Familiarity with API/H2H payment workflows is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily Wires, ACH, H2H, and API-based payment processing
  • Support client onboarding and client refresh activities impacted by payments-related updates
  • Handle exceptions, queue management, and operational escalations
  • Perform operational readiness and implementation tasks for payment-related changes
  • Coordinate with internal teams (operations, tech, onboarding) to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to compliance/operational controls
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and client-facing teams
