Overview / Summary

Greyhawk Technology, LLC in supporting the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) seeks an experienced Database Administrator (C. Advanced) to support enterprise database environments across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle platforms. This role will ensure database reliability, security, performance, and scalability within FDOT’s mission-critical applications and data systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operational and administrative support for enterprise database systems (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, GIS)
  • Plan, design, implement, and optimize database structures
  • Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, and recovery activities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and DBA procedures
  • Review SQL code and ensure adherence to standards
  • Mentor and support technical team members in best practices
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Collaborate with application development teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with FDOT and AST standards

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced expertise in DB2 for z/OS (integration, catalog maintenance, recovery)
  • Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, ISPF, CA GEN, RACF, CICS, IOF, ASG Scheduler
  • Solid working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database administration
  • Experience with Windows Server, Azure, and SSRS/SSIS/SSMS
  • Understanding of infrastructure change management, backup/recovery, and security protocols
  • Ability to conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting in multi-platform environments

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: DB2, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server certifications; Azure certification a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting FDOT or Florida state agency systems
  • Familiarity with FDOT Financial Management or Integrated Database Infrastructure
  • Proven ability to work flexible schedules and on-call rotations
