What You W ill Do :

Guidehouse is looking for a dynamic and detailed oriented Payroll Project Manager who will champion the innovation needed to deliver 100% accuracy of employee pay! This role is responsible for the overall management, performance, and completion of projects, technology enhancements, process improvements and optimization, implementations, and tasks that successfully drive payroll initiatives to help drive the global payroll strategy. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of multiple medium to large, complex projects. The position requires great project management, payroll management expertise, training, and teamwork skills to coordinate the tasks associated with each implementation. The combination of technical know-how, interpersonal communication, a strong sense of initiative, and a drive to get the job done well will be critical to success. Success in this role will involve driving cross- functional partnerships to identify, design and implement value added efficiency workflows to achieve delivery of an associate's final pay. It will require a broad set of skills ranging from high-level strategic thinking, to effective decision making when faced with tradeoffs between schedule, resources and scope. Advanced knowledge of the technology applications for payroll processing on a global scale, coupled with proven program management success leveraging data, will be critical. The Project Manager will drive inter-team process improvements, build and standardize process controls and ensure robust, effective operations. This position will report to the Director, Payroll. Primary areas of responsibility will include:

Leadership
  • Provide thought leadership to deliver world-class payroll processes, procedures, systems and services
  • Capable of acting as a change agent to create relationship opportunities with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. HR, IT, Finance/Accounting, Payroll Vendors, etc.


Project Management
  • Collaborate on or lead all areas of project management for multiple medium to large projects from initiation through delivery involving multiple teams to ensure the successful execution of the project's mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Set or collaborate on business objectives to deliver solutions with the most efficient use of resources and technologies.
  • Build project plans and templates such as project schedules, risk logs, status reports, etc..
  • Identify optimization potential, define requirements with follow through to implementation with measurable process improvements.
  • Manage the project lifecycle, from kick-off to transition to support and Customer Success.


Execution
  • Deliver to project objectives, deliverables, workplan, and charters
  • Ensure delivery of new business processes, procedures, capabilities and new tools
  • Ensure the project team members are completing deliverables in alignment with the timelines


Change Management
  • Ensure project has a robust strategy and plan for change management. Ensure delivery of the strategy and plan
  • Ensure execution of the project communication and training plan
  • Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders, including; GH Leadership, GH stakeholders, Finance/Accounting, IT and functional teams/leads


Governance
  • Set and manage the project governance
  • Establish reporting priorities and report implementation progress to the various leadership teams and steering committees


Processes, Procedures and Systems
  • Enhances and improves existing process/procedures and systems through documentation, workflows, checklists and audits; maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies/ procedures.
  • Utilizes technical knowledge to provide guidance, training and direction to staff who are responsible for payroll execution and payroll systems administration.


What You Will Need :
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus 7+ years of professional experience OR 11+ years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in multi-state full cycle payroll with an emphasis on delivering cross-functional project management
  • Strong payroll background
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible and adaptable based on the needs of both our internal and external partners
  • Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills
  • Solution-oriented with the ability to articulate under pressure
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage a pipeline of projects required
  • Prowess for conflict resolution required
  • Previous implementation or project management experience required
  • Strong customer orientation, sense of urgency in getting things done, and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge and experience with HCM/Payroll systems, e.g. Workday, ADP, PeopleSoft, Costpoint, etc.


What Would Be Nice To Have :
  • Advanced/Master's degree preferred in related field (e.g. Finance, Accounting or Business)
  • CPP certification preferred
  • HCM system implementation and management experience
  • Vendor management skills


The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
