Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Database Administrator (Oracle AppsDBA) in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and planning management and administration of technology in area of specialty, working with team members to ensure technology is effectively supporting enterprise systems, and sharing knowledge and providing mentoring to other IT associates.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze existing database systems and recommend improvements
  • Work with IT Manager to establish database security structures, Sox compliance
  • Create/maintain database access systems including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Administer database replication between servers, across Local Area Network and Wide Area Network
  • Tune and optimize database objects
  • Provide 24x7 on call support
  • Provide technical input to solution development plans and concept documents
  • Demonstrate understanding of business impacts of issues and how they relate to IT owned solutions
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form in a cross-functional setting with business partners
  • Share knowledge and actively mentor less experienced IT Administrators (Administrator 1 & 2)
  • Perform/plan major version upgrades
  • Design/implement effective monitoring of enterprise systems
  • Tune systems using experience and deep knowledge of area
  • Foresee risks and communicate/mitigate those before problems arise
  • Document technical designs and procedures for team library
  • Plan/manage technical projects involving other teams
  • Communicate technology effectively to non-technical associates and management
  • Recognize/understand technology impacts within the business
  • Contribute to technical research on new technologies, processes or procedures with a desire to continuously learn new technologies
  • Participate in project definition activities including estimation of delivery

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the following: Oracle Apps DBA experience with (R12 and higher) Oracle eBusiness Suite application and Oracle Database administration (19C and higher), support and upgrades
  • Oracle Weblogic
  • Experience with Relational or NoSQL database technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
  • Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies supporting a broad variety of solutions including HDFS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elastic, SQL Server
  • Oracle Agile PLM, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning, Oracle Demantra, Oracle DataGuard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Experience with SQL Server, Postgres administration, support or upgrades and operating system migrations
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
