SharePoint Migration & Modernization Engineer (ITAR + SE Focus)

Title: SharePoint Migration & Modernization Engineer (U.S. Person ITAR)
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Duration: Contract / Project-Based (6 12 months)

About the Role
We are seeking a SharePoint Engineer to support a multi-phase modernization initiative focused on secure content migration and SharePoint platform upgrades. This role includes work within an ITAR-restricted environment and requires U.S. Person status. You will lead the migration of content from ITAR SharePoint into Microsoft Teams and support the upgrade of a SharePoint 2016 environment to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE).

What You'll Do

  • Execute secure content migration from ITAR SharePoint to Microsoft Teams
  • Upgrade SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) including farm configuration and testing
  • Configure and customize SharePoint sites, templates, page layouts, and webparts
  • Support Microsoft Purview configuration for sensitivity labels, classification, and governance
  • Partner with a Senior SharePoint Architect to validate design and execution plans
  • Collaborate with business users to confirm content, permissions, workflow, and access readiness post-migration

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident/)
  • 5+ years of SharePoint engineering experience (2016 & SE required)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server (queries, stored procedures)
  • Proficiency with .NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with SharePoint workflows (Bamboo preferred), SPFx, and InfoPath (C# code-behind)
  • Familiarity with AD, DNS, IIS, and Windows Server networking
  • Experience with Purview (labels, classification, eDiscovery) and Power Automate a plus
