Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity operations team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) systems. The selected candidate will play a critical role in identifying and analyzing cyber threats through continuous monitoring, event correlation, and incident response. Using advanced Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, the analyst will assess system activity, conduct vulnerability testing, and deliver actionable insights to fortify network defense strategies. This position is ideal for a proactive, technically skilled professional who can manage complex threat detection scenarios and lead incident triage processes with minimal oversight.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of systems and networks to ensure compliance with DoD security configurations and policies.
- Perform passive (e.g., compliance audits) and active (e.g., vulnerability assessments) evaluations to identify deviations and security risks.
- Support certification and accreditation efforts, including documentation, process support, and test evaluation.
- Utilize CND tools for continuous monitoring and vulnerability analysis across classified and unclassified networks.
- Analyze network traffic and system logs to detect intrusions, anomalies, and policy violations.
- Triage and assess the impact of security incidents, lead or support response efforts.
- Correlate data from various sources (IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint tools) for advanced threat analysis.
- Recommend and implement improvements to network defense configurations based on trend analysis.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation activities and verify completion of corrective actions.
- Create detailed incident reports and contribute to post-incident lessons learned.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or threat analysis, preferably in a DoD or federal environment.
- Preferred: Master's degree or advanced technical certification (e.g., CISSP, GCIH, CEH, GCIA).
- Active SECRET clearance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
- Proficient with CND and monitoring tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, Suricata, Wireshark.
- Familiar with DoD cybersecurity policy, NIST SP 800-53, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience supporting system Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, including audit readiness and security control implementation.
- Proven ability to create and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and compliance documentation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to operate independently under minimal supervision while managing deadlines and mission-critical tasks.
