Job Title: Lead Unified Communications Architect
Location: New York /Remote
Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Project-Based)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Unified Communications (UC) Architect to serve as the technical lead and solutions architect for a complex UC migration initiative. The ideal candidate will oversee the technical assessment, design, and implementation of a modern cloud-based collaboration environment, ensuring the solution aligns with both business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture and design of the UC solution, including cloud-based calling platforms.
- Conduct detailed assessments of existing CUCM environments, infrastructure, and call flows.
- Develop core project documentation including the Migration Design Document (MDD), dial plan strategy, and integration guides.
- Design solutions for E911 compliance, gateway configurations, and third-party system integrations (e.g., emergency alert systems).
- Oversee and review work by the engineering team to ensure technical consistency, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on complex scenarios, including call routing, multi-site deployments, and system interoperability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to align technology strategy with organizational needs.
- Support migration planning, testing, and deployment activities.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in Unified Communications, with deep expertise in Cisco collaboration technologies.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration or equivalent high-level certification.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale CUCM and Webex Calling or other cloud collaboration platforms.
- Strong knowledge of CUBE gateways, SIP trunking, E911 solutions, and dial plan architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and provide architectural direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-complexity environments.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with public sector or regulated enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with emergency notification systems such as Informacast Fusion.
- Knowledge of hybrid collaboration models integrating on-premise and cloud platforms.
