POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining systems hardware, software, and infrastructure. This role will conduct technical research to support innovation and assist end-users with hardware and software issues. The Senior Systems Administrator will supervise and administer Help Desk Operations to ensure all systems and procedures comply with organizational values, supporting staff, clients, and partners.
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Engineering, Support and Provisioning
Architect and deploy scalable technology solutions to meet project-specific and enterprise-wide operational requirements
Administer and optimize Help Desk operations, ensuring high availability and resolution support issues
Manage lifecycle processes for endpoint hardware and software, configuration, deployment, and decommissioning
Plan, execute, and monitor infrastructure and application-related projects, adhering to project management frameworks and timelines
Perform installation, configuration, and integration of enterprise systems, including financial collaboration, and line-of-business applications
Develop and maintain detailed installation, configuration, and operational documentation and runbooks
Enforce compliance with system standards, security baselines, and industry best practices
Evaluate, recommend, and implement automation strategies (e.g. scripting, configuration management tools) to streamline system administration workflows
Oversee software imaging and deployment using centralized management platforms
Operations and Support
Monitor system health and integrity, including hardware status, server performance, system processes, event logs, and the successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backups
Coordinate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to investigate and remediate security alerts and incidents
Develop, implement, and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and recoverability
Administer Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and Azure AD services
Maintain and manager Active Directory and domain services
Process and fulfill user account lifecycle requests (provisioning, deprovisioning, role changes, permissions)
Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving escalated user issues across systems and applications
Perform system recovery and remediation from hardware and software failures, coordinating with impacted stakeholders to minimize downtime
Maintenance
Perform routine application of operating system patches, security updates, and administrative utilities: deploy new services in alignment with infrastructure requirements
Upgrade, configure, and maintain enterprise applications including accounting, messaging and collaboration platforms based on evolving project and business needs
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration baselines, and system administration protocols
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or Systems Engineering, with demonstrated senior-level responsibilities
ITIL Certification required, strong understanding of IT service management best practices
Microsoft certifications (e.g. MCSA, MS-900, AZ-104) preferred
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and provide actionable guidance on intricate issues
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required, often with minimal advance notice, in support of critical systems or projects
Salary: $100,000- $115,000 per year ( depends on experience level)
