Looking for a Sr. Payroll Data Analyst
- Must haves are: Workday Payroll and ADP Smart connect
- Need someone to come in and help process payroll
- Most will be focused on the US payroll which is about 800 employees semi monthy
Job Description - Sr. Payroll Data Analyst
What you ll be working on
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 1,200 employees across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
- Maintain compliance with tax regulations, internal policies, and legal standards, while ensuring precise payroll documentation and recordkeeping.
- Deliver accurate and timely payroll data to the Finance team to support audits, financial planning, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries, providing clear, professional guidance and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain payroll and HR policies, ensuring consistency with company procedures and alignment with local labor laws.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Finance to collect, validate, and reconcile payroll data, proactively resolving any discrepancies.
- Partner with the Finance team to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and contribute to monthly and year-end financial close processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll systems (ADP SmartConnect, Workday Payroll), supporting system configuration, testing, enhancements, and upgrades.
What you bring to the role
- Over 8 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing, with a strong track record of accuracy and compliance.
- Recent and in-depth experience with Workday Payroll, including processing payroll, tax calculations, and garnishment handling.
- Proficient in using ADP SmartConnect for tax filing, remittance, and payment services.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations, tax codes, and labor laws, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to resolve complex payroll issues efficiently.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to explain payroll processes and policies clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive both independently and in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formula creation for payroll analysis and reporting.
