Our client is a Fortune 500 financial and payments technology company, and leads the industry in innovation, scale, and service.
They are now looking to add to their team and are looking to hire a " User Experience Designer . This role will be based out of Charlotte, NC/ is 100% Remote.
Summary:
We are looking for a User Experience Designer III with strong enterprise UX sensibilities and a passion for simplification. This role focuses on reimagining complex configuration tools originally built for large-scale enterprise clients and translating them into intuitive, workflow-based experiences for the SMB market.
This is a contract role, ideal for a systems thinker who can distill deeply nested settings and logic into approachable interfaces, all while ensuring responsive design patterns across devices.
You'll be supporting the Genius platform, aimed at unifying enterprise capability with SMB ease-of-use.
- Translate enterprise configuration workflows into simplified, guided SMB experiences (e.g., setup wizards, question-based forms, smart defaults)
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and other designers to evolve complex systems into modular, reusable UI patterns
- Design and document responsiveness across breakpoints, ensuring mobile-first workflows without sacrificing power
- Break down configuration requirements into scalable UX logic, balancing automation with customization
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and final UI assets that clearly convey interaction intent
- Lead or contribute to UX workshops or design sessions that focus on system simplification and onboarding
- Partner with UX researchers to test assumptions with real users and iterate rapidly
- Advocate for design system consistency while also contributing to its evolution based on SMB needs
Skills
- 5+ years of UX/Product Design experience with proven work in enterprise SaaS or configuration-heavy platforms
- Experience designing onboarding workflows, setup wizards, or question-based configuration UIs
- Deep understanding of responsive design patterns, mobile UX considerations, and component-based design systems
- Ability to abstract complex systems into clear mental models and user-centric flows
- Proficiency in Figma, along with experience documenting UX for handoff to developers
- Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional teams, especially with PMs and engineers
- Experience with iterative development environments
- Bonus: Background in service design, systems thinking, or SMB-targeted UX transformation projects
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, UX, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced UX training or certifications in systems thinking or enterprise UX a plus
