Workday Financial Project Manager
Locations: 100% remote (client located in Texas)
Duration: 12-month contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Financial Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end implementation and optimization of Workday Financials. This role requires strong project management capabilities, deep understanding of financial systems, and experience coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful Workday solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Workday Financials implementation projects from initiation through deployment and post-go-live optimization.
- Partner with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource plans.
- Coordinate and track progress of solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Facilitate system design sessions, review configuration proposals, and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Manage risks, issues, and project dependencies, providing clear communication and resolution strategies.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and Workday functional/technical teams.
- Oversee data conversion, integrations, and testing strategy for financial modules (e.g., Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Projects).
- Ensure training and change management plans are executed to support user adoption.
- Provide post-implementation support planning, performance reporting, and continuous improvement oversight.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in Workday Financials implementations.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes (general ledger, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, project accounting).
- Proven success managing large-scale SaaS implementations, preferably Workday.
- PMP or comparable certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate matrixed environments.
Preferred:
- Workday certification in Financials or relevant modules
- Experience in post-implementation support and optimization
- Experience with integration planning and third-party financial tools
