Our Challenge:
We are seeking a highly skilled JAVA AWS Lead Developer with extensive Banking domain experience to lead our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, cloud computing with AWS, and a deep understanding of banking processes and compliance. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative banking solutions on cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Atlanta, GA is $110k-$120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable and robust banking applications using Java technologies.
- Architect and implement cloud-based solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Ensure all solutions comply with banking regulations, security standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team members.
- Conduct code reviews, optimize application performance, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in existing systems for better performance, security, and maintainability.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in design and code reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of Java development experience; At least 3 years of JAVA Lead experience
- Proven expertise in cloud computing, especially AWS, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
- Experience with banking or financial services domains, including knowledge of compliance, security standards (PCI DSS, FFIEC, etc.), and banking workflows.
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL databases in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Leadership skills with experience leading technical teams and managing project delivery.
Preferred, but not required:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer).
- Experience with other cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of security protocols and encryption in banking applications.
- Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
