Atlassian JIRA-Confluence Engineer

Location: Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC

Duration: 12 Months+

  • Team is responsible for the Atlassian stack, They have been consolidating 53 incidents down to 4
  • They have 140,000 confluence and Jira users, once of the larges installations of both these tools in the world on prem
  • They are in the early phases of moving to the cloud from on prem
  • Use JavaScript to specialize or customize the cloud site
  • Being able to add add-ons in Atlassian marketplace and customize forge environment
  • Skills/Background Needed
  • Looking for someone who has experience administering these tools in a cloud environment
  • Ideally would have come from on prem prior to that so they can help with the day to day work they have now
  • Will need to be an experience user of these tools had been a project administrator or something similar
  • Need experience making request types and customizing the portal, how to add users to roles, fix users, etc. (acting as a system administrator of these tools)
  • Understand underlying Java API, rest end points available for both on prem and in cloud
  • Understand Atlassian cloud native development, Forge
  • Experience in Atlassian s cloud SaaS

In this role, you will:

Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts

Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment

Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains

Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements

Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements

Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ of experience administering and configuring Jira and Confluence within Atlassian s Cloud (SaaS) platform, including user management, workflow customization, and permission schemes to support agile project delivery.
  • 2 + years of professional experience developing dynamic, interactive web applications using JavaScript
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and integrating APIs using RESTful architecture and JSON for data exchange
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, with experience applying Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks to drive iterative development, team collaboration, and continuous delivery
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience developing robust automated test scripts using tools such as Python, Playwright, HyperExecute, and Pytest to ensure application reliability, performance, and continuous integration efficiency.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments and learning new tools or technologies as needed.
