As we develop a fully integrated experience in our R1 and future vehicle lines, we need engineers to help redefine the next generation of features that build upon and integrate into our in-vehicle infotainment systems. This role will be focused on building and refining rendering technology.

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range California-Based Applicants: $178,500 - $216,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is adequate on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop Rivian Rendering engines for In-Vehicle infotainment
- Develop software working on Native Android
- Collaborate with Application and Platform Software, HMI developers, System Design, and Test Engineers to realize a modern in-vehicle experience
- Test and iterate on the in-vehicle experience in Rivian prototype vehicles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- 5-6+ years' experience working with lower-level rendering interfaces OpenGL, DirectX or Vulkan
- Experience authoring shaders in GLSL, HLSL or comparable
- Experience profiling and optimizing rendering pipelines
- 5-6+ years' experience with modern object-oriented languages like Kotlin, or C++
- Software Development life cycle experience, from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance
- Experience working in embedded or gaming software environments
- Experience writing multithreaded applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others.
- Experience working with the Android environment
