Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for strategically designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive network infrastructure that supports traditional on-premises data centers and modern cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. Their role encompasses deploying SD-WAN technologies to enhance connectivity, utilizing Ekahau for optimal wireless network design, managing Meraki network devices for robust network operations, and employing Palo Alto Panorama for advanced security management across all network segments. This individual collaborates closely with various teams to ensure the network's performance, availability, and security meet the highest standards. They monitor network traffic, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize network performance across all environments. The Network Engineer plays a crucial role in network planning, including assessments and capacity planning, to accommodate future growth and technology advancements, ensuring scalability and security in a hybrid network infrastructure.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, configure, and deploy sophisticated network infrastructure components, emphasizing SD-WAN technologies to optimize connectivity across our diverse environments.
  • Leverage Ekahau for advanced wireless network design and analysis, ensuring robust and efficient wireless coverage and performance.
  • Manage and optimize Meraki network devices for seamless operation and monitoring of our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.
  • Utilize Palo Alto Panorama for centralized network security management, enhancing our security posture across all network segments.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain the enterprise network's performance, availability, and security, integrating Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform cloud solutions to support our hybrid infrastructure.
  • Monitor network traffic, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network performance, focusing on SD-WAN performance and reliability.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to assess network requirements, propose innovative solutions, and support the strategic integration of SD-WAN, cloud services, and network security enhancements.
  • Implement and enforce advanced network security policies, leveraging cloud-native tools and features alongside Ekahau, Meraki, and Palo Alto solutions.
  • Contribute to network assessments, capacity planning, and traffic analysis, focusing on hybrid and cloud networks' scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and technologies in network engineering, with a keen interest in SD-WAN, wireless networking, and cloud security best practices.

Education, Certifications, and Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • 4-year degree is preferred.
  • Certifications in network engineering (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
  • Cloud certifications in Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform are strongly preferred.

Required + Preferred Skills

  • Profound understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles, with a strong emphasis on SD-WAN technologies.
  • Expertise in wireless network design and analysis using Ekahau, and in managing Meraki and Palo Alto Panorama network solutions.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform and Ansible, particularly in configuring and managing cloud environments.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex network issues across various platforms and technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, including cloud-native and vendor-specific solutions (Meraki, Palo Alto Networks).
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills, capable of leading initiatives and working alongside teams and vendors to achieve network excellence.
