Maxar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a high-impact mission in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves developing, enhancing, and maintaining software systems used across networked, local, and internet-based environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the full software development lifecycle and a passion for building scalable, enterprise-level solutions in cloud environments.

Location: This position is full time onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, implement, maintain, and enhance tools written in C and Python.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define tool requirements and plan necessary modifications.
  • Develop and execute systematic testing procedures to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices and team standards.
  • Provide briefs and demonstrations of tools or new features to users and leadership.
  • Adapt open source tools or published capabilities into organic tools or tool features.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum 6+ years of technical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong C coding ability, demonstrated through at least five years of experience with development primarily in C
  • Experience coding in Python
  • Familiarity with unit and integration testing and CI/CD.
  • Experience with code review processes and enforcing coding standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience cross-compiling tools written in C to new architectures.
  • Experience with defensive cybersecurity, penetration testing, or cyber network operations.
  • Familiarity with open-source offensive and defensive security tools and frameworks.
  • Experience developing custom capabilities for offensive or defensive cyber operations.
  • Ability to analyze, adapt, or reverse engineer existing proof-of-concept capabilities.
  • Ability to use reverse engineering techniques to identify new potential exploits in existing systems.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:

$175,000.00 - $190,000.00
