Project Overview
This project requires a Network Security Analyst / Cybersecurity Analyst to support the DSHS (Department of State Health Services) cybersecurity program on an ongoing basis. The role focuses on protecting enterprise networks and information systems, maintaining and improving cybersecurity tools, and identifying and mitigating security risks across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, administer, configure, and troubleshoot cybersecurity software and hardware tools.
- Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect suspicious or malicious activity.
- Evaluate and review existing cybersecurity tools and controls to identify gaps and weaknesses.
- Develop recommendations and implement risk reduction and remediation plans.
- Investigate security incidents and breaches and support incident response activities.
- Apply and manage security patches and updates for network and security systems.
- Design, prepare, and present project documentation including project plans, status reports, briefings, and presentations.
- Conduct research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to understand organizational objectives, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Interact extensively with internal and external stakeholders to identify, analyze, and resolve complex security issues.
- Perform basic project management duties, including project charters, risk management, communications, and resource coordination.
- Edit, maintain, and update technical documentation ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Provide regular progress reports and briefing materials to leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of Evaluate and review existing Cybersecurity tools and controls to determine gaps, provide recommendations, and implement risk reduction plans for the organization.
- 3+ years of Design, prepare, and present supporting documentation such as project plans, status reports, briefings and presentations, and internal / external stakeholder communication materials for the organization.
- 3+ years of Use research, interviews, meetings, and workshops to understand the organization's strategic objectives, processes, issues, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- 3+ years of Interacts extensively with internal or external stakeholders, including business partners and/or external parties to identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems or security gaps.
- 3+ years of Fulfill basic project management duties to ensure the successful completion of short-term engagements, to include creation of project charters, expectation / communications management, risk management, resource management for the org.
- 3+ years of Perform editing on documentation to include checks for format, clarity, and overall cohesiveness. Manage updates and revisions to technical literature for the organization. Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
Preferred Skills:
