BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr Data Engineer

for an opportunity at Eagan-MN Location!

Position Title: Sr Data Engineer

Location: Eagan, MN

Anticipated Start Date: 08/01/2025

Expected Duration: 6+ months

Job Type: Full Time (>=40 HRS WEEKLY) - CONTRACT - Remote

Pay Range: $60/hr to $70/hr

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines using both batch and streaming processes.


• Develop integrations and data transformations to support machine learning models and analytics products.


• Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.


• Conduct exploratory data analysis and help transform raw data into usable formats for downstream consumption.


• Apply independent judgment in designing scalable, maintainable, and secure data solutions.


• Support the installation, operation, and evolution of data systems within the Department of Data & Analytics' technology ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent 5+ years of professional experience.


• 5+ years of hands-on programming experience with SQL.


• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines.


• Strong experience with the Google Cloud Platform tech stack, including:




• Terraform


• Google Cloud Platform Dataflow


• BigQuery


• DataProc


• Data Fusion


• Change Data Stream


• Python and SQL


• Cloud Functions


• Cloud Events


• Cloud Composer




• Google Cloud Platform certification is required.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience working in cross-functional Agile product teams.


• Understanding of analytics frameworks and familiarity with machine learning data prep processes.
