Overview
Blue Chip Talent is currently looking for an Equipment Safety Engineer to support the design, installation, and commissioning of machinery in a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on ensuring equipment meets safety and compliance standards through risk assessments, reviews, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Candidates must be local to the Normal, IL area or willing to relocate at their own expense and able to be on-site within 2 weeks from offer.
All candidates must be on our W-2. NO C2C or 3RD PARTY VENDORS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS ROLE.
Key Responsibilities
- Support safety aspects of machinery design, installation, and commissioning in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform risk assessments and lead equipment safety reviews.
- Develop and improve equipment safety standards.
- Interpret and evaluate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety circuits.
- Work with manufacturing, engineering, and EHS teams to ensure safe operations.
- Maintain documentation and deliver equipment safety training.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with industrial equipment in a manufacturing setting (at least 4+ years of experience is required).
- Knowledge of ANSI, ISO, UL, NFPA safety standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical and control system safety (NFPA 79, NEC, UL 508A).
- Familiarity with ISO 12100, ISO 13849, or ANSI B11 for risk assessment.
- Ability to read and evaluate technical schematics and safety circuits.
Certifications like CFSP, CFSE, or CMSE are a plus but not required.
