Network Security Specialist III

San Diego, CA

Contract to Hire

We are seeking a Senior Network Administrator for a Contract to Hire opportunity based in San Diego, CA. This role will report to an office 2-3 days per week and has the option to work from home the remainder. The selected candidate will be support a US Government customer and will be responsible for analysis, administration, and support of voice, video, and data communications networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform system administration and maintain operations of ESS servers (ePolicy Orchestrator/Agent Handlers)
  • Maintain ESS compliance with DISA, US Cyber Command, JFHQ DoDIN and Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command operations orders (OPORDs), Fragmentary orders (FRAGOs), Change Tasking Orders (CTOs), and other DoD configuration compliance requirements
  • Execute and monitor the progress of software deployments, upgrades, and installation of Trellix Agent, ENS Threat Prevention, ENS Firewall, DLP and other ESS security modules to host computers
  • Provide performance tuning to systems and troubleshoot ESS components which span a large and complex environment
  • Configure, test and deploy ESS policies based on STIG requirements
  • Experience building queries, dashboards, and reports
  • Create exceptions and/or exclusions within ENS Threat Prevention policies as needed
  • Provide OS level support for Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator software configuration and updates
  • Troubleshoot product deployment issues on host systems
  • Create, test and implement DLP policies for device control and data protection
  • Brief leadership regarding compliance as needed
  • Work effectively independently as well as within a team environment
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability and willingness to take on new challenges

Required Skills
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Must have a DoD issued ESS Certification
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • VMWare Experience
  • Windows Server 2016 or higher experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • Linux experience
  • Experience applying DISA STIGs/Security Patches
  • Strong writing skills with SOP and Policy development relevant to ESS
  • Computing environment certificate, CCNA, or equivalent within 6 months of hire
