Job Description
The successful candidate will apply tradecraft to a variety of digitization platforms. Data to be digitized is derived from maps, charts, and intelligence documents that originate both internally and externally from NGA. Staff must also conduct digitization post processing to convert digitized files to multiple file formats, as well as the ability to upload and export completed scanned files as needed.
Duties:
(U) Conduct digitization services for both internal NGA and external customers.
(U) Conduct necessary post processing file conversions and uploads to GeoSQRL database.
(U) Fulfilling customer requests; e.g. providing basic reference and research support, conducting customer interviews to understand requirements, providing reproduction services, etc.
(U) Dissemination of digital and hardcopy products.
(U) Contribute to the preparation of analytical and technical reports and publications.
(U) Create and maintain databases, summary data, spreadsheets, and graphic documents.
(U) Maintain proper file management in accordance with division standards.
(U) Request and maintain access to security domain systems (SBU/NIPR, SecNet, NGANet).
(U) Provide weekly digitization numbers for scanning metrics summaries.
(U) Transportation of physical media (up to 25 lbs.).
(U) Utilize a ladder in the scope of filing.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BAE Systems Research Librarians are key participants in the analytic process, enabling access to data to fill in gaps for key intelligence questions. Possessing the required skills is important to providing the truly hard to find data.
(U) Familiarity with the digitization of maps, charts, and other intelligence documents.
(U) Ability to build Power Point slides, Excel spreadsheets (Pivot tables), Email, and One Note Notebooks.
(U) Course work or I year of experience using ArcGIS desktop.
(U) Experience directly engaging with partners/customers; interpersonal skills and customer service.
(U) Basic knowledge of Cartographic Principles (Map elements, chronology enumeration).
(U) Ability to support movement and organization of physical media by carrying boxes (up to 25lbs) and climbing a ladder.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
(U) Understanding of NGA maps/products.
  • (U) Understanding of classified databases and sources.
(U) Understanding of Foreign maps/products.
(U) Familiarity with Geodetic Principles (Coordinate Systems, Datums, Projections).
(U) Familiarity with large format and small format scanning equipment.
(U) Familiarity with JIRA.
(U) Familiarity with library clerical procedures and practices.
(U) Ability to remain flexible to changing priorities and requirements from supervisors and customers.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $53680 - $91300

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
