Job Details

Job Title: Embedded Control Engineer
Location: Plymouth, MI and Columbus, OH
Job Description:
We have two positions, one if located in Plymouth, MI, and other one in Columbus. The candidate should have 3-4 years of experience in either in controls development or testing.
  • The role requires understanding of failed part performance to create robust diagnostic designs, particularly in aftertreatment DEF dosing systems.
  • Controls DEF Dosing, focusing on Development and Testing of System Level OBD Diagnostic Development.
  • Utilize a combination of tools to uncover failure modes of the system early during design and test of prototype parts,
  • Work with the supplier in designing test procedures DVP&R, Test cases according to engineering standards
  • Develop Technical Specification for dosing hardware, Supplier capabilities review to match customer needs.
  • Responsibilities include investigating product software issues, understanding causal mechanisms, recommending solutions, and documenting outcomes.
  • The role involves collaboration with product and software development teams to deliver verified software features and components, making critical decisions that affect software quality and performance.
  • Candidates should have a background in the 8-step diagnostic concept generation and development, along with experience in emissions control features.
  • Worked on design, development, testing and troubleshooting of controls algorithms
  • Calibrating Vehicle side interfaces, Engine Protection Derate algorithms as per customer requirements
  • Test Cell support to test new features
  • Developed test plans to test robustness of the code in meeting user interface specifications
  • New features development for After-Treatment system performance improvements
  • Requirements gathering from stakeholders, Analyzing and providing solutions for Production vehicle issues
  • Gathering and reviewing OBD requirements, OBD & Non-OBD diagnostics development
  • Performing Feature Simulation, Performing FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
  • Developing OBD certification documents, Bench testing, test cell validation and vehicle validation
  • Calibration tuning for features and diagnostics
