Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver next generation event processing, alerting and analytics systems within Global Risk and Regulatory Technology team
• DNA ARC team is responsible building systems that help the leverage the power of large data sets for a wide variety of uses cases and users including front office execution services consultants, sales traders, data scientists as well as regulatory and supervisory reporting requirements
• Work with large volumes of data generated at very high velocity, typically billions of messages a day with peaks of several thousands of messages per second
• Must have a passion for building efficient, scalable and highly resilient systems working in a collaborative environment with multiple stake holders
• Design and develop distributed, high volume, high velocity multi-threaded event processing systems using Core Java technology stack in an agile setting
• Develop solutions to the latest risk, regulatory and compliance regulations that maintain data integrity, security and functionality
• Develop highly efficient software code for multiple use cases leveraging Core Java and Big Data technologies for various use cases built on the platform.
• Provide high operational excellence guaranteeing high availability and platform stability

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar
• 4+ years of recent Core Java development
• Track record of working well in diverse team settings as well as leading specific deliverables to completion
• Excellent understanding of object-oriented design and development principles
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and integrity

Desired skills:

• Experience with other Big Data frameworks
• Experience with DevOps model and tools like Ansible
• Experience in the financial industry
• Experience in developing large scale, fault tolerance systems with Apache Kafka, Apache Storm, NoSQL databases or related technologies is desirable
• Resource should have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26
