This position is part of Novanta's ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world's leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. ATI end-effectors enhance productivity and flexibility of robotic and automated solutions across a wide spectrum of industries through capabilities such as automatic tool changing, force-torque sensing, material removal, and more. Primary Responsibilities
- Designing, writing, and testing software that is used to calibrate and test industrial robot tooling.
- Develop test plans and procedures
- Write test instructions.
- Windows software is written in .NET languages (C#, Visual Basic, etc.). May involve some assembly and C programming for microcontroller firmware.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- Understanding of object oriented programming (experience with .NET languages is a plus).
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn basic concepts of digital electronic hardware.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Min. GPA: 3.5
Management prefers:
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, such as subnet masking and MAC addresses vs. IP addresses.
- Basic experience with Assembly language.
- Basic experience with C/C++.
