Title: Azure Security Consultant
Location : 100% Remote

Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK) : $40-50/hour
Job Summary
This role focuses on securing cloud infrastructure, applications, and services within a Microsoft Azure environment. The position requires deep technical expertise across Azure resources, identity management, and Infrastructure as Code. The consultant will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to assess and strengthen cloud security, implement cloud-native security solutions, and embed security controls into CI/CD workflows to ensure strong protection across all cloud-hosted environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical security consulting across Azure cloud resources (Key Vaults, Databases, App Services, WAF, Front Door, Policy, etc.) and recommend improvements to strengthen overall cloud security posture.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to develop and promote Infrastructure as Code using BICEP templates, embedding security controls within CI/CD workflows on Azure DevOps.
Conduct cloud security assessments for Azure-hosted and hybrid architectures, including container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS.
Implement and maintain CNAPP solutions (e.g., Wiz, Orca, Prisma Cloud) to monitor, detect, and remediate cloud-native risks across workloads, identities, and configurations.
Secure identity and access management functions, including on-premises and cloud-based Active Directory, federated identity, single sign-on (SSO), Okta, Azure Active Directory, managed identities, and service principals.
Monitor, detect, and respond to cloud security incidents using SIEM/SOAR platforms (such as Exabeam or similar technologies) and Azure-native monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Security Center, Log Analytics).
Document and communicate security assessment findings, recommendations, and remediation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders with clear and actionable guidance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
Ability to communicate complex security assessment findings and remediation plans clearly to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated skill in analyzing business direction and challenges, understanding long-term goals, and developing strategic technical solutions.
Experience with threat modeling tools (Irius, Cairis, Kenna, Microsoft, etc.).
Azure security certifications are a plus.
