Role & Responsibilities Overview

  • Data Cataloging: Utilize Informatica IDMC to catalog data assets, ensuring robust metadata management and improving data discoverability across the organization.
  • Data Classification: Perform manual or automated classification of sensitive, critical, and confidential data.
  • Master Data Management: Develop, validate, and maintain detailed mappings and schemas in Excel to manage master data essential for analysis and reporting.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Audit and refine data quality regularly, collaborating with IT, Data Owners, and Data Stewards to resolve discrepancies and maintain high integrity.
  • Policy Implementation & Compliance: Enforce data management practices aligned with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and insurance-specific standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between data users, technical teams, and business leaders to align data accessibility with actuarial department needs.
  • Educational Workshops & Support: Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support for Alation and Excel-based governance practices.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and execute data governance projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data governance or similar roles within the insurance industry.
  • Expertise in IDMC for data glossary, lineage, and cataloging; advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with insurance data standards and regulatory environments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in consultancy and client-facing roles.
