GenAI Software Development Engineer

Job Summary:
The Software Development Engineer (SDE) III will contribute to all areas of development as a member of Enterprise reusable services team which includes a focus on Generative AI solutions. Team members will have areas of strength and some level of specialization but must be adept at learning tools and languages that enable the team member to participate in all areas of product development. Being adaptable and knowledgeable in multiple domains enables the team members to swarm or fill gaps to meet commitments.

• Build, test and maintain software solutions using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into software specifications.
• The SDE III engages beyond the team to accomplish objectives, influencing and collaborating with other teams within the company, and working directly with organizations external to the company.
• The SDE III coaches and mentors the team to achieve full participation and high-quality reviews while maintaining a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime, and the team's ability to rapidly triage/resolve production issues.

• Proficiency in Python and experience with LangChain and LangGraph frameworks.
• Strong understanding of LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, and tool use via agents.
• Deep understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using Azure-hosted vector databases and Azure Cognitive Search.
• Design and deploy Agentic AI systems using LangGraph to manage complex workflows and multi-step reasoning tasks.
• Integrate and operationalize Azure OpenAI Service, including model selection (e.g., GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo), deployment, and fine-tuning strategies.
• Implement prompt engineering best practices tailored to Azure OpenAI s deployment constraints and token limits.
• Develop secure and scalable APIs and microservices that interface with Azure OpenAI endpoints.
• Monitor and optimize cost, latency, and throughput of Azure OpenAI workloads using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and custom telemetry.
• Manage Azure resources (e.g., Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Blob Storage) to support GenAI pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and responsible AI practices as per Azure s enterprise-grade standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members on best practices for building GenAI solutions in the Azure ecosystem.
• Extensive experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS and native toolsets such as Azure ARM Templates, Terraform.
• Experience in building cloud-native microservices using containers with Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless technologies.
• Proficiency in Relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB, MongoDB.
• Experience in building front-end applications using ReactJs or Angular, with a focus on integrating Generative AI.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and optimizing automated pipelines with automated testing and security controls.
• Experience in describing solutions and generating architecture artifacts (Logical, Physical) using MS Visio or Lucid chart.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.

Experience and Education

• 4+ years of experience in software development using Java and/or .NET as a programming language
• 3-5 years of Cloud development and support experience such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) required
• 5+ years of experience in software development with at least 2 years in GenAI or LLM-based applications preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in the consumer banking or auto finance industry preferred.
• Bachelor of Computer Science or related Engineering field; and/or commensurate experience
