Role Overview:
At the intermediate level, an IBM MQ administrator should be proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM MQ across multiple environments, including high-availability (HA) and clustering.
 
Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to manage, configure, and optimize enterprise Java application environments using IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WAS ND) and IBM Liberty.
  • Advanced Configuration – Managing distributed queue managers, advanced channel configurations, and multi-instance queue managers.
  • High Availability & Clustering – Setting up and managing HA environments, queue manager clusters, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
  • Advanced Security – Implementing SSL/TLS encryption, OAM security policies, and integrating LDAP for authentication.
  • Performance Tuning – Optimizing queue manager and channel configurations for high throughput and low latency.
  • Integration & Automation – Developing scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automated monitoring and maintenance.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting – Diagnosing complex messaging failures, dead-letter queues, and performance bottlenecks using tools like dmpmqmsg, strmqtrc, dspmqtrc.
  • Application Support & Development Knowledge – Understanding how applications interact with IBM MQ, including JMS and REST API.
  • Monitoring & Alerting – Using IBM MQ monitoring tools (IBM MQ Explorer, Prometheus, Splunk, or Nagios) to track queue performance and generate alerts.
