Position Overview:

The Sr. Data Security Consultant will take a leadership role in delivering outcomes across a wide range of global clients. This will be accomplished by engaging with customer leadership to define priorities and outcomes for engagements, expanding the capabilities and offerings of the practice and delivering on consulting engagements in a leadership capacity.

WWT is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Data Security Consultant with a strong background in Data Security Governance and a focus on Policy, Data Classification, Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), Encryption (e.g., PKI, KMS, HSM, or certificate management), and the use of related AI-powered platforms to support hands-on a wide range of clients as a key member of the Global Security Consulting practice at WWT. This role s primary focus will be to collaborate with other WWT service offerings to design and implement mature data security solutions for cybersecurity engagements with WWT s Fortune 500 customers. As part of a collaborative team environment, you will be the key contributor to new customer initiatives with a focus on various security aspects of the data lifecycle, delivering customer objectives. Additionally, you will leverage these project experiences to extract valuable lessons learned and provide constructive feedback to WWT teams and customers for continuous improvement of solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Focus:
  • Understand customer needs and design solutions that solve for their needs-short and long term
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout an engagement.
  • Understand their specific needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Stay Updated: Continuing education on the Data Security and Data Protection landscape, including:
    • New technologies, such as AI-Governance and classification platforms.
    • Evolving standards in post-quantum cryptography standards,
    • Challenges to data classification in a cloud environment (e.g., classification accuracy, insufficient cloud visibility, regulatory compliance, key management, data lifecycle management, distributed data storage, data volume and velocity, etc.).
    • Develop and deliver briefings, workshops, assessments, and trainings as foundational offerings to engage WWT s customers in new pursuits.
    • Build and support marketing and digital platform initiatives.

Creative Solutioning:
  • Understand customer problems and develop new solutions that are most effective and differentiated from our competitors
  • Security Assessments of Data Governance and Data Lifecycle: Conduct comprehensive security assessments of a client s overall data lifecycle, identifying strategic issues with the data governance, data policy, data classification and its impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability and providing clear, actionable recommendations to mitigate the risks. Recommendations may include but are not limited to data policy, AI-powered data governance, data classification, data leakage prevention, and encryption programs.

  • Use a strategic approach to managing customer interactions and data throughout the customer journey with a goal of higher business growth through better customer experiences

End to End Solution Management/Delivery

  • Security Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data security governance strategies tailored to specific business requirements while ensuring compliance with industry best practices, standards, and regulations (e.g., data privacy).
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide opportunities to WWT field organization and customers to raise the level of awareness and promote best practices in data security.
  • Tool & Solution Implementation: Actively design, develop, deploy, and configure data governance processes and tools across multiple platforms. Ensure they tools are correctly integrated with the customer s enterprise security solutions (e.g., DLP, SIEM)
  • Data Security Policy Development: Work with stakeholders to develop maintainable and enforceable data security governance policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Primary Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data classification, DLP, and encryption roles, architecting/consulting solutions, with a focus on large enterprise customers.
  • 3+ years of service delivery experience.
  • Passion for defining and implementing solutions to customers.
  • Experience developing original content (PowerPoint and blog articles).
  • Self-Motivated to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and develop a view of upcoming (data) security topics and technologies.
  • Ability to perform concurrent tasks in complex environments under adjusting priorities
  • Ability to communicate and modify approach, language, and style to different audiences
  • Professional writing style and experience with demonstrable technical and business-related artifacts is required
  • Collaborative, with the ability to manage conflicting interests and deal with ambiguity.
  • Effective communication skills: capable of supporting presentations to convey concepts and solutions, writing effective emails, and discussing strategy with senior executives.
  • Strong teamwork qualities: able to gain the trust of customers and collaborate effectively within the WWT team.

Specific Technology and Cybersecurity Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, data classification and DLP methodologies and technologies, encryption protocols, and key management.
  • Deep familiarity with DLP solutions and technologies (e.g., Cisco Cloud Data Loss Prevention (C-DLP), Code42, Forcepoint, Varonis Data Security Platform, etc.). Experience in implementing, configuring, and managing DLP tools to monitor, detect, and prevent data leakage incidents.
  • In-depth expertise and working knowledge of industry security frameworks, such as ISO 27001 & 2, ISO 27005, and NIST SP 800-37, 800-60, 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH Act.
  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of encryption standards or protocols, such as AES, RSA, ECC, Diffie-Hellman, IPsec, WPA3, AES-GCM, and TLS.
  • Solid knowledge of AI concepts such as Large Language Models (LLM) and Machine Learning (ML) and their use cases in the data lifecycle.
  • Knowledge or hand-on experience with AI-Governance platforms a plus.
  • Experience with Key Management Systems (on-prem & cloud), such as Thales or HSMs a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field a plus.
