Job Title: Automation Developer Knowledge Base, Dashboards & Heatmaps (Mavenir 5G Applications)
Location: Frisco (TX)/ Overland Park (Kansas)
Duration: 12+ months

We are seeking an Automation Developer with deep experience in Mavenir 5G applications, cloud-native platforms (preferably Red Hat OpenShift), and observability tooling. This role focuses on automating and curating Application Knowledge Base (KB) articles, designing dashboards, and building heatmaps for visualizing operational health and performance metrics of telco applications.

The ideal candidate will contribute to both Day 1 onboarding and Day 2 operations, ensuring that 5G apps are deployed correctly and are observable, traceable, and easy to support through structured documentation and visual intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Day 1 Application Onboarding & Enablement:

  • Collaborate with application teams and platform engineers to automate the deployment of Mavenir 5G apps (e.g., CU/DU, AMF, SMF, UPF, IMS).
  • Generate onboarding guides, automation templates, and integration runbooks aligned with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms.
  • Capture deployment requirements, environment specifics, and configuration best practices to create accurate and reusable KB articles.

Day 2 Monitoring, Visualization & Support Tools:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and heatmaps using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK to visualize application KPIs, anomalies, and failure patterns.
  • Document common Day 2 operational issues, their symptoms, diagnostics steps, and automated or manual remediation paths in knowledge base articles.
  • Integrate metrics and logs across Mavenir 5G components into unified observability pipelines.
  • Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and NOC teams to identify trends and enhance alerting and visibility through automation.

Documentation & Intelligence Automation:

  • Build scripts or pipelines that automatically collect and update logs, metrics, and troubleshooting info into internal knowledge repositories (e.g., Confluence, ServiceNow KB).
  • Create and maintain visual heatmaps reflecting application behavior across geo-distributed environments.
  • Proactively contribute to a living knowledge system that evolves with application updates and operational learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 4+ years in automation, cloud-native application operations, or observability in telco cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Mavenir 5G applications and their deployment/monitoring requirements.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes environments (preferably Red Hat OpenShift).
  • Solid scripting experience (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Helm, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring/visualization tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fluentbit.
  • Excellent written skills for creating knowledge base articles, runbooks, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with 5G application performance metrics, alarm handling, and failure scenarios.
  • Experience with automated knowledge management or documentation tooling (e.g., Git-based KB pipelines).
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based incident/problem/change documentation workflows.
  • Prior contributions to a telco NOC or cloud SRE/DevOps environment.

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and ability to translate technical issues into accessible knowledge content.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and organized approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of operational data into actionable insights and visual tools.
  • Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
