About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IDP DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and manage our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). This role focuses on enabling development teams through self-service infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and standardized development environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to enable development teams with self-service capabilities.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define and automate development workflows, environments, and infrastructure.
Build and manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration environments.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CloudFormation.
Ensure security, compliance, and observability are built into all platform services.
Monitor and support the health and performance of the IDP and related systems.
Advocate and implement best practices in DevOps, including GitOps, immutable infrastructure, and shift-left testing.
Work closely with SREs, developers, and architects to continuously improve platform capabilities and developer experience.
Requirements
Must-Have:
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python, or Go) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps principles.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Experience designing developer-focused tools or internal platforms.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience building IDPs using Backstage, Port, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
Previous experience in developer advocacy or DX (Developer Experience) roles.
Familiarity with DORA metrics and platform maturity models.
