Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Varicent Lead Developer to design, develop, and support our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) solutions using the Varicent platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales compensation processes, technical implementation, and Varicent development including data modeling, rule writing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and implementation of the Varicent ICM platform.

  • Develop complex calculation logic, data transformations, and reporting metrics using Varicent tools.

  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, HR, and Finance to gather and interpret compensation plan requirements.

  • Design and manage Varicent data models, compensation rules, and payout calculations.

  • Build and maintain Varicent reports, dashboards, and workflow automations.

  • Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and optimize performance of the platform.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.

  • Manage data feeds (ETL processes) into Varicent from CRM, ERP, and HRIS systems.

  • Ensure solution scalability, security, and adherence to compliance standards (SOX, GDPR, etc.).

  • Support post-implementation changes, enhancements, and compensation cycle updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience with Varicent (formerly IBM ICM/SPM) development.

  • Proven expertise in Varicent Composer, Reports Studio, and Web Admin tools.

  • Strong hands-on skills with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL tools.

  • Experience integrating Varicent with CRM (Salesforce/MS Dynamics), ERP, and HR platforms.

  • Deep understanding of sales compensation structures, quotas, and incentive plans.

  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) a plus.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

  • Prior experience in Financial Services, Telecom, or Software/SaaS industries.

  • Varicent certifications (if available).
