Job Details
Role: Lead Java Developer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite)
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Java Technical Lead who can drive end-to-end solution delivery, provide technical leadership, and work closely with clients to define product and technology roadmaps.
The ideal candidate should have preferably 10+ years of experience, deep expertise in Java-based enterprise applications, cloud-native architectures, modern development practices, and the ability to influence decision-making at the client level.
Must Have Skills:
- Core Java, Java 8+
- Excellent understating and implementation skills for API Services and micro service, REST and SOAP services, along with HTTP caching, API Security & Management techniques used for REST services.
- Cloud computing experience (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
- Event Driven architecture implementation, define strategy, handle product configuration, integration patterns
- Agile methodology
Strong plus:
- Understanding of Hospitality Domain
- Any .NET experience
- Google Cloud Platform (Firestore, PubSub, Google Storage, GAE and GKE)
- Jenkins
- Jira
Soft Skills:
- Excellent client-facing communication (both business and technical).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic mindset can influence architecture and roadmap decisions.
- Ability to lead without authority and bring stakeholders together.
- Proactive, ownership-driven, and comfortable challenging the status quo.
Role Requirements:
Lead team:
- Daily connect calls with offshore team to understand any blockers/issues and help to mitigate
- Mentor team so they can accomplish their career goals
- Ensure teams communicate in an appropriate manner with all stakeholders
Agile ceremonies:
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies including:
- Backlog refinement
- Sprint/Kanban planning
- Retro
- Daily standup calls
Assist with POC efforts:
- Help coach and mentor Capgemini resources working on any POC or other work where LSP platform is needed.
- Ensure all stories are understood and executed on
- Resolve blockers where possible
Customer-centric focus:
- Ensure good, concise communication is the norm when interacting with all stakeholders
- Be proactive in attending to application needs.
- Be the first to create a bridge to triage an issue or to discuss a concern
- Be friendly and calm on all calls and guide the team
- Always stay on lookout for any easy wins to ease application pain points
Monitoring and Alerting:
- Leverage Splunk to pull data to triage issues or build new ways to visualize application behavior
- Create Splunk alerts to catch any errors that occur in the environments
- Create Splunk dashboards to provide picture of current state of LSP
Relationship Management:
- Work with external teams to get things done for the LSP team
- Own relationship with PEETI to get infrastructure changes completed or code rolled back
- Own relationship with the NOC team and continue providing more run books so they can take control of them and start helping to triage basic alerts
