Software Application Developers collaborate with end users - from concept to application- on a variety of vendor and in-house applications for Learning Management and Student Information Systems and Research. The development environment is dynamic and includes Windows, Linux, and Cloud (AWS and Azure) for Mobile, Web and Desktop, coding with C#, Java, Python and PHP, and CSS, Java and PL/SQL scripting.

Over the past year, Technology Services has created vertical technical and management career paths to support individual career growth. Texas A&M is developing a state-of-the-art network with a future organization to include machine learning and AI creating a rich learning environment for years to come.

These are on-site positions, typically Monday-Friday.

Multiple Opportunities available

Level 2 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of software applications developer experience.
  • Consults with users to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve complex problems through analysis and production results
  • Provides status and utilization reports to management
  • Reviews, designs, codes, debugs, and tests complex programs or applications


Level 3 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of software applications developer experience.
  • Sets technical direction and coordinates the activities of a project or project team
  • Project management reporting and scheduling
  • Mentors junior staff
  • Advanced client relations
