Technical Support Technician
Location: Berwick, PA, Full Onsite
Contract: 3 Months (Strong Possibility of Extension)
Pay-rate: $20/hour - $25/hour on W2 (without benefits)
Position Overview
The Technical Support Technician I provides hands-on support for hardware installation, cabling, and equipment setup in an enterprise environment. This role is ideal for early-career professionals (0-3 years experience) with foundational knowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, or telecommunications. The technician will assist in implementing and maintaining physical infrastructure under close supervision and established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and label fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Patch cables between equipment and ensure organized cable management.
- Move, install, and implement large enterprise hardware and networking gear.
- Follow standard operating procedures for hardware installation and break/fix activities.
- Maintain safety and security standards during all installation work.
- Document and track issues or installations to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Education: High School Diploma required (Associate s degree preferred).
- Experience: 0-3 years in technical support, telecommunications, or related field.
- Preferred Experience:
- Cable installation, preparation, and labeling.
- Fiber optic cabling.
- Experience with Comcast or other internet/telecom providers.
- Familiarity with common IT support practices and troubleshooting processes.
- Able to lift/move up to 40 lbs independently (and assist with heavier loads).
- Comfortable working at heights, from ladders, and in physically active settings.
- Capable of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent organization and prioritization abilities.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow direction precisely.
