Description

SAIC is seeking Software Engineer Interns to support the U. S. Army program in creating experimental software applications located in El Paso, Texas.

MUST BE - El Paso, Texas local and willing to support the team year-round

The Software Engineer Intern will participate in developing, deploying, operating, and maintaining a suite of software applications with unique challenges in combining legacy code with some of the latest software technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement new software features based on project requirements
  • Write clean, well-documented code adhering to coding standards and best practices
  • Identify, debug, and resolve software defects
  • Participate in software requirements, code reviews, and test plan reviews
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed features
  • Collaborating with team members in-person and/or via Microsoft Teams to plan, estimate, and complete projects

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Currently enrolled in a STEM or technical degree path and two (2) years of college or work related experience

Qualifications:
  • Experience with Java or C/C++
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system and command-line interface
  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git to manage code changes
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams including product managers, analysts, and other engineers
  • Analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, coming up with creative solutions to complex problems

Required Clearance:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance (ship required)
