Job Title: Sr. OpenShift Administrator (AWS & Cluster Management)
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Job Description
Seeking a Senior OpenShift Administrator with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) on AWS. This role will own administration, scaling, security, automation, and troubleshooting of enterprise OpenShift clusters in a cloud-native, production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, configure, upgrade, patch, and monitor Red Hat OpenShift clusters on AWS
Design and implement cluster scaling, load balancing, and multi-AZ architectures
Manage namespaces, policies, and enforce security & governance
Deploy and troubleshoot workloads using Helm charts, YAML manifests, and CI/CD
Integrate OpenShift with AWS services EBS, Route53, ALB/NLB, IAM, CloudWatch
Partner with DevOps/Cloud teams to optimize cost, performance, and availability
Automate OCP operations using Ansible, Terraform, or similar IaC
Monitor health and alerts using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK
Implement security controls RBAC, certificates, vulnerability remediations
Participate in incident response and RCA for cluster or container issues
Maintain documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years overall in IT Systems / Platform Administration
3+ years hands-on with Red Hat OpenShift (v4.x preferred)
Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration background
Proven experience managing OpenShift on AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)
Strong Kubernetes fundamentals pods, services, ingress, volumes, config maps, secrets
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.)
Automation using Bash / Python / Ansible / Terraform
Solid understanding of AWS networking and security VPC, TLS, RBAC
Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
