Job Title: Sr. OpenShift Administrator (AWS & Cluster Management)
Location: The Woodlands, TX

Job Description

Seeking a Senior OpenShift Administrator with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) on AWS. This role will own administration, scaling, security, automation, and troubleshooting of enterprise OpenShift clusters in a cloud-native, production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, upgrade, patch, and monitor Red Hat OpenShift clusters on AWS

  • Design and implement cluster scaling, load balancing, and multi-AZ architectures

  • Manage namespaces, policies, and enforce security & governance

  • Deploy and troubleshoot workloads using Helm charts, YAML manifests, and CI/CD

  • Integrate OpenShift with AWS services EBS, Route53, ALB/NLB, IAM, CloudWatch

  • Partner with DevOps/Cloud teams to optimize cost, performance, and availability

  • Automate OCP operations using Ansible, Terraform, or similar IaC

  • Monitor health and alerts using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK

  • Implement security controls RBAC, certificates, vulnerability remediations

  • Participate in incident response and RCA for cluster or container issues

  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years overall in IT Systems / Platform Administration

  • 3+ years hands-on with Red Hat OpenShift (v4.x preferred)

  • Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration background

  • Proven experience managing OpenShift on AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)

  • Strong Kubernetes fundamentals pods, services, ingress, volumes, config maps, secrets

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.)

  • Automation using Bash / Python / Ansible / Terraform

  • Solid understanding of AWS networking and security VPC, TLS, RBAC

  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
