Role: WebFocTIBCO Developer (Financial Data Reporting & Analysis)
Duration: 6+ months contract
Overview:

We are seeking a skilled WebFocTIBCO Developer with strong experience in mainframe Focus and financial data reporting. You will play a critical role in modernizing legacy reporting systems, aligning them with the new Florida PALM (Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management) chart of accounts, and improving financial data systems and reports. This position focuses heavily on analyzing, documenting, updating, and converting existing systems to support modernization efforts.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • Relevant work experience may substitute for a degree on a year-for-year basis.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with TIBCO Mainframe Focus or WebFocus.

  • Strong SQL skills, particularly with IBM DB2.

  • Experience working with IBM Mainframes and Job Control Language (JCL).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos, or Tableau.

  • Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile frameworks.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems or financial reporting systems.

  • Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, operational data stores, and master data management concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing Focus and WebFocus programs and document technical specifications.

  • Work with stakeholders to define a modernization strategy for all Focus-based reporting systems.

  • Translate existing mainframe WebFocus queries into T-SQL for integration with modern systems.

  • Collaborate with DBAs to create database views and stored procedures to support new reporting methods.

  • Update existing Focus and WebFocus programs to reflect changes introduced by the Florida PALM project.

  • Convert legacy flat-file data processes into structured database processes.

  • Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to the system's data model.

  • Administer and support the WebFocus environment in a dedicated remediation setting.

  • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to in-house technical staff.

Core Technical Skills & Knowledge Areas:

  • Expertise in Mainframe Focus and WebFocus report development

  • Strong understanding of SQL, IBM DB2, and data governance practices

  • Experience working with financial data sets (e.g., general ledger, purchasing, revenue)

  • Ability to develop data reports based on end-user requirements

  • Ability to work with multiple data sources and integrate data effectively
