Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead with a strong background in the healthcare industry to oversee quality assurance activities across complex, regulated applications and platforms. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in healthcare workflows, compliance standards (HIPAA, HL7, ICD, FHIR, etc.), and enterprise QA strategy. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on testing capabilities, and proven experience driving quality across cross-functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor QA engineers across multiple project teams.
  • Define and implement QA strategy, standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Develop a scalable test framework covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and automation testing.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Development, DevOps, and Compliance teams to ensure end-to-end quality.

Test Planning & Execution

  • Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
  • Oversee manual and automated test execution for healthcare applications, APIs, and data workflows.
  • Ensure QA coverage for requirements, use cases, data mapping, and system integrations.
  • Drive defect management, root-cause analysis, and process improvements.

Healthcare Domain Expertise

  • Ensure QA processes align with healthcare standards, security, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PHI handling, FDA CFR Part 11 if applicable).
  • Validate EHR/EMR workflows, claims processing, eligibility, clinical data exchange, and interoperability (HL7, FHIR).
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure domain accuracy and data integrity.

Automation & Tools

  • Lead automation strategy and expand automated test suites for web, mobile, API, and backend components.
  • Work with frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, JMeter, etc.
  • Ensure CI/CD integration with automated quality gates.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional QA experience, including 3 5 years leading QA teams.
  • Lead experience is must.
  • Strong background in healthcare systems, payer/provider workflows, or medical data standards.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience validating APIs, microservices, cloud-based systems, and data pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent documentation abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, etc.).
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with performance and security testing tools.
  • ISTQB, CSTE, or other QA certifications.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across global teams and stakeholders.
