Job Summary
We are seeking an IT Security Administrator / Associate Security Engineer to support data security, compliance readiness, and audit activities across multiple agencies. This role is ideal for entry level candidates or early-career professionals with exposure to cloud platforms, data security practices, and compliance frameworks.
Required Skills
- 1 2 years of experience or internship in data compliance, data engineering, or security (academic or professional).
- Experience (hands-on or academic) with AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of GRC principles, audit readiness, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS Pub 1075, SOC2 controls.
- Basic understanding of encryption, access control, data masking, and core data security concepts.
- Familiarity with Python, PySpark, and SQL for data processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and monitoring secure data pipelines on AWS and Azure.
- Work with compliance, GRC, and audit teams to maintain controls for HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS Pub 1075, SOC2.
- Support development of audit documentation, reporting, and compliance training.
- Participate in security reviews, risk assessments, and remediation for internal/external audits.
- Configure and monitor access controls, encryption, and data masking.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ingest, process, and secure structured/unstructured data.
- Engage in training and ongoing development for security certifications and compliance frameworks.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 1 2 years experience or internship in compliance, security, or data engineering.
- Hands-on or academic experience with AWS/Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of GRC, audit readiness, and major compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS Pub 1075, SOC2).
- Understanding of encryption, access control, and data masking.
- Experience with Python, PySpark, SQL.
- Familiarity with security tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Tenable Nessus, Metasploit) is a plus.
- Relevant security certifications preferred.
