About the Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Threat Defense and Response team, developing the next generation AI-powered security platform. This platform will be instrumental in enhancing our cyber defense capabilities across security operations, incident response, threat intelligence and hunting, and more. The security landscape is constantly evolving, and with the adoption of ML/GenAI backed by extensive heterogeneous data, security threats are inevitably broadened. With your deep and comprehensive expertise across major technology stacks, you will architect, implement and scale industry-leading security solutions for cyber defense. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with cross-functional security and engineering teams, and play a key role in shaping our cybersecurity strategy.
\\-\\-\\-\\- What the Candidate Will Do ----
1. Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance software platform and services for Uber's threat defense and response
2. Leverage AI models and algorithms to transform threat defense and response from human-driven to AI-powered
3. Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
4. Collaborate with cross-functional software engineering teams to build end-to-end cyber defense solutions
5. Deliver high-quality code, conduct code reviews, and identify areas for improvement
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
2. 3+ years of experience in software development
3. Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Python, or Go
4. Strong experience in backend software architecture design
5. Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience with AI/ML technologies and frameworks and incorporating them into production systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices
Proven track record of leading complex software projects from inception to delivery
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
