DescriptionSenior Test Engineer Engine Test (SG24) Location: [Seymour IN] Start Date: August 2025 Job Type: Full-time Shift: 1st Shift (Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM; off-hours/weekends as needed) Annual Salary Range: Open for Discussion Seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our Engine Test team within the SEP business. This is a hands-on, senior-level role for a technically driven individual with strong leadership instincts and a passion for mechanical systems. The ideal candidate thrives in the shop, understands the nuances of engine control systems, and brings a builder s mindset whether that s from engineering school or years spent working on trucks, cars, or machinery. This position offers the opportunity to lead initiatives across a dynamic test environment, mentor team members, and drive innovation in engine testing and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and support engineering projects within the Engine Test area Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PLCs, engine control systems (e.g., Comptek), mechanical fixtures, and fluid handling systems Review, modify, approve, and implement manufacturing and test processes Serve as project lead for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution Coordinate and implement new equipment, processes, and option changes Collaborate with Skilled Trades during repair and troubleshooting activities Work with suppliers to source, design, and implement new machinery Support production assembly operations and participate in design reviews Lead cross-functional teams to support plant initiatives and continuous improvement Supervise 1 3 hourly Advanced Manufacturing Associates (AMA) supporting the same area Ideal Candidate Profile Technical Expertise 5 7 years of experience in engineering or technician roles, preferably in manufacturing or engine testing Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems, engine control systems, PLCs, and fluid handling Background in computer programming and control systems Familiarity with Comptek or similar engine control platforms Experience working on cars, trucks, or machinery whether professionally or as a hobby Comfortable in a shop environment and capable of diagnosing and solving complex mechanical issues Education & Design Aptitude Bachelor s degree in EE, EET, ME, MET, or equivalent experience Candidates with a design background but no formal degree will be considered if they demonstrate strong technical capability and hands-on experience Leadership & Soft Skills Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and communicate effectively across shifts Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive projects to completion Not just a project manager someone who s worked the project, understands the technical details, and can roll up their sleeves when needed Additional Information This is a 1st shift leadership role, responsible for guiding work across all three shifts Position level: SG24 |
