Business and Technical Context: The product owner must understand both the business context and technical aspects of deploying AI analytics models, including how data is sourced, processed, and embedded with intelligence using a data vault architecture, ensuring all signals are contextually tagged for comprehensive analytics.

Collaboration with Business Teams: The team highlighted that the product owner will be responsible for engaging with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business questions into technical specifications, and ensure that the resulting analytics solutions meet the needs of various disciplines such as maintenance, fuel, and environmental operations.

Data Integration and Standardization: The need for the product owner to oversee the integration and standardization of signals from diverse shipboard systems, ensuring uniform protocols and ontologies are applied so that analytics and bots can function seamlessly across the fleet.
