IT IAM Engineer / Consultant @ Alameda, CA 94502 (Onsite)
Part-time (4 to 5 hours/day) Contract W2 / C2C
We seek an IAM Engineer / Consultant to help manage Service Accounts with outdated passwords and stale accounts. Work with our team to help increase the use of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for logons to on-prem servers.
Responsibilities
- Service Account Management – Identify and manage User and Service Accounts with old passwords and stale accounts. Communicate and coordinate with account owners to update passwords and ensure compliance with security policies
- Analyze why Passwords are not getting changed – Review Account data and talk to account owners to learn more about the accounts
- Silverfort System Upgrades – Assist with system upgrades as needed
- MFA Compliance for Servers – Ensure all on-prem servers are protected with MFA using Silverfort (and/or Okta Verify) and Microsoft Authenticator. Where possible, ensure Cloud servers are also protected with MFA
- AD Account Owner Coordination – Facilitate communication for AD account owners (Service Account Owners, User Accounts) to organize password changes, leveraging automated notifications and providing additional support as needed
- Active Directory Knowledge – Utilize knowledge of Active Directory and Entra ID to look up background data on Service Accounts, understand login processes and errors, and work with AD group configurations to enforce company policies
- Documentation and Reporting – Maintain detailed documentation of processes, changes, and updates. Provide regular reports on the status of Service Accounts and MFA implementation; This will include updating administrative documentation (standard operating procedures, end user documentation, training material, reports, and metrics on compliance with policies
Skills & Experience
- Working experience and strong knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, specifically user account data, login processes, server computers, and Active Directory Groups
- Familiarity with Silverfort, Microsoft Authenticator, Okta Verify, or similar MFA solutions
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with users and account owners
- Ability to work as a team to manage system upgrades and ensure compliance with security policies
- Ability to work within the Agile Project Management framework (review, create, and update project tickets; attend stand-up meetings)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams)
- Working knowledge of Jira, Kanban boards, sprints; Understanding of how Tables, Lists work (how to update data, import/export data, show metrics) in Excel, SPO
- Knowledge of PowerShell and how to work with it (create/modify scripts); Ability to work with the Silverfort Command Line Interface
- Understanding of Change Management principles; Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate metrics, process changes, and status; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
