Joint Forces Capabilities Data Analyst
The Opportunity:

As a data scientist, you're excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you're fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you can help turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence-we need you to help find the answers in the data.

You'll serve as part of the Booz Allen Team that supports Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications Joint Force Integration in assessing modernizing and future military capabilities across the Components and Combatant Commands. Identify and collect data sources, analyze and extract key data and information, and evaluate and monitor data quality to meet client organization's needs. You will research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through the collection, analysis, and visualization of multiple data sets. You'll a pply data cleansing skills and data analytics experience by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on the audience. You'll a ssist and participate in data validation and cleaning to ensure the quality and integrity of the data. You'll present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Microsoft Office. You'll establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes. You'll produce data visualization through different tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and Power BI, documenting the processes used to produce visuals. You'll also participate in various program meetings, collaborate with stakeholders, develop documents and briefs, present results and communicate effectively with Joint Force leaders at the GS-15 and O-6 level and above.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience communicating analysis in both written and verbal forms
  • 3+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
  • Experience writing analytical and technical reports and developing data visualizations in Power BI or Qlik to deliver key insights
  • Experience with a scripting language such as SQL, R, or Python to extract data and perform analytics and visualizations
  • Knowledge of good data principles, including data cleaning, preprocessing, and wrangling data
  • Ability to clearly convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and provide writing samples
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while dealing with large and multiple data sets with a high attention to detail and quality
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience researching complex system architectures and providing potential solutions to gaps
  • Experience with DoD mission modeling and campaign modeling
  • Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL/NoSQL
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisitions and business project analysis
  • Knowledge of quantitative data modeling techniques and widely used modeling tools
  • Knowledge of joint force development, design, concept or capability development
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
