A top law firm in the DC area is looking for an AI Applications Engineer to join their Information Technology Department. The role is based in Washington, DC, but it can also be 100% remote from an approved U.S. state. This position is part of one of developing offices in the firm which focuses on innovation and emerging technologies.

The AI Applications Engineer will design and develop AI-powered tools that improve legal workflows and make it easier for attorneys to serve their clients. This is a role at the crossroads of law and technology, where you will take the latest AI techniques and apply them to real legal challenges.

Day-to-day, this person will be building AI-driven web applications, integrating large language models like GPT into legal processes, and making sure those tools are accurate, secure, and user-friendly. They will also collaborate with attorneys to understand what they need, translate that into technical solutions, and train legal staff on how to use the tools effectively.

The firm is looking for someone with experience in web development using JavaScript, .NET, and Python, as well as hands-on work with AI models and APIs. Familiarity with cloud tools like Azure and version control systems like Git is important. Strong communication skills are also key since this role will involve working closely with both technical teams and legal professionals.

This is a chance to join a leading law firm and help shape how AI is transforming the legal industry. Those who have a background/experience in law are preferred.
