Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Quincy, MA
Duration: 6 Months
Job Overview:
A Business Analyst is needed to join a collaborative team supporting the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). This role will focus on projects that enhance systems and processes for the member community within the Medicaid program. The BA will support the development, testing, and implementation of MMIS-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs, state and federal regulations, and overall program objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in health plan operations, system development lifecycles, claims processing, and preferably Medicaid-related systems. Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills are essential.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with stakeholders.
Apply knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies to support project activities.
Develop test strategies, scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements.
Execute and review system testing and provide sign-off where appropriate.
Document business requirements and assist in the development and testing phases of projects.
Contribute to the creation of end-user training materials and documentation.
Provide oversight during stabilization phases, including monitoring system changes, identifying fixes, and ensuring solutions are implemented.
Collaborate with vendors to ensure business requirements are understood, developed, and tested thoroughly.
Communicate updates, changes, and impacts to relevant stakeholders.
Represent MMIS in business or cross-functional meetings as needed.
Support program staff, vendors, and stakeholders with MMIS-related inquiries.
Provide coverage for other Business Analysts as needed.
Conduct data queries and perform data analysis to support business decisions.
Qualifications:
Proficient in business analysis across all stages of the system development lifecycle.
Strong understanding of HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing.
Advanced data analysis skills; proficiency in SQL required.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with project managers, developers, analysts, business users, and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Highly analytical with the ability to evaluate data, document findings, and propose solutions.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor s degree or higher in Business, IT, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
